As co-founder of Canada’s largest rural-focused telecommunications provider and one of the country’s largest facilities-based telecommunications providers for residential and business customers, I have over two decades of experience in building and operating world-class networks, whether fibre optic, 5G wireless, or satellite. As EVP Strategic Initiatives, I have helped raise hundreds of millions of dollars to improve the broadband experience for rural Canadians. My knowledge of this heavily regulated industry enables me to anticipate issues, and my experience navigating technical, economic, and political issues makes me a skilled negotiator and dealmaker. I enjoy guiding any business through a complex negotiation, whether it’s an acquisition, an integration, a sale, an RFP, a financing, or any operational issue associated to the telecommunications business. Being a member of the Xplore executive team, I have had the opportunity to build relationships and to get to know our many shareholders over the years, from the family who started the business to the institutional investors that joined over time and to the NY-based private equity firm who acquired Xplore in 2020. I understand the importance of broadband to day-to-day activities, and as a long-time resident of rural Canada, I believe that remoteness does not have to be an obstacle. I am particularly excited about projects that result in bringing best-in-class technologies to previously under-served areas.
